| Firmware for Okidata Microline 192 Plus IBM |
As far as I could tell this firmware didn't exist online, so I dumped the ROMs from my own unit for anyone to flash to an EPROM. Somebody tell this poor boy I've got his ROMs!
There were two versions of the Okidata Microline 192 Plus: the Okidata compatible version, and the IBM compatible version. The Okidata version uses its own control protocol, wheras the IBM version emulates an IBM 5152 at the expense that you can't use Okidata specific features on the fly, for instance, italics. These ROMs are for the IBM version, and if I understand correctly you can put these ROMs in an Okidata version and it will de facto become an IBM version. If anyone has the ROMs for the Okidata version, send me an E-Mail. I'd love to try them out!
Q8 goes in the socket closest to the rear of the printer, and Q9 goes in the adjacent socket. In my unit the third socket (closest to the front, on the other side of the soldered NEC D4168C-20 from the Q9 socket) is unpopulated. The model number of the EPROMs used in my unit is HN27256G-25.
These dumps are untested! I have no way to write them to new chips and test them on actual hardware. If you try these and they work fine, or if you suspect they are corrupted, send me an E-Mail with your results!
