A very simple experiment, rather than plug something directly into an analogue TV with simple coax cables, why not simulate analogue broadcast television at home?
Yes, you can actually do this with any ordinary TV antenna. Plug one antenna into the TV as you would have back in the day and plug the other into the coax out on your device or RCA to coax converter. Then just get the antennas as close together as possible.
